Nokia have announced the N97 will be released on the 15th June in the UK. With a 3.5″ display combined with a QWERTY keyboard and built on the S60 5th Edition platform and Symbian operating system this is one of the most eagerly awaited mobile phones of the year.
The TFT colour display offers an ultra resistant touchscreen with 640 x 360 pixels resolution. The large bright display makes web browsing very easy to use whenever you need to quickly check something online. The keyboard perfectly complements the web browser and makes the whole mobile surfing experience very laptop-like.
The Nokia N97’s widescreen display is great for watching videos and an added bonus is you can use the TV output to view everything on your home television directly from your mobile phone! The 5 megapixel camera also ensures that video quality is impressive too although it is disappointing that a newer 8 megapixel camera was not included.
Nokia’s new revolution in touch screen technology has come very close to that of its main rival, the Apple iPhone, although multi-touch is sadly lacking. The new Nokia’s interface is very easy to use and has small desktop icons as seen in the original Windows display which makes the user’s experience straightforward and satisfying. For example, logging on to Facebook is as simple as touching the Facebook icon on the main screen.
Compiling a serious music collection on the N97 is another benefit you can enjoy due to the welcome 32 GB of internal memory, enough for thousands of mp3s and videos. When you have this mobile there is no need to carry a usb stick, mp3 player or even a laptop anymore.
